[Public offering contents]
The Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) is promoting research on the investigation of the causes of diseases and the practical application of preventive, therapeutic, and diagnostic methods for global health care issues in this project. In FY4, we will evaluate 1) the effectiveness, safety, efficiency, etc. of medical devices, medical technologies, and pharmaceuticals approved in Japan for the improvement of health and medical problems in low- and middle-income countries. We will promote clinical research by an international joint team for the purpose, and (B) implementation research of medical devices, medical technologies, etc. that have been approved in Japan but have not been introduced or disseminated in clinical sites in the target countries. In addition, 2) in collaboration with the Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD), we will promote implementation research for the prevention of non-communicable diseases, which is becoming widespread even in low- and middle-income countries, through a life course approach. Based on the obtained knowledge, we aim to put new diagnostic methods, treatment methods, and preventive methods into practical use and implementation in the target countries.
