[Public offering contents] The Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) will carry out open recruitment in the field of infectious diseases in the 4th year of Reiwa under the Global Science and Technology Cooperation Program (SATREPS) as follows.Target field: Infectious disease field "Research on infectious disease control based on the needs of developing countries"
Research period: 3 to 5 years (after provisional period *)
* The provisional period is the period from the conclusion of R / D and MOU to the official start of joint research.
Budget scale: Approximately 32,000 thousand yen per project / year If the project period is a 5-year plan, the total amount is within 154,500 thousand yen in 5 years (including indirect expenses and provisional period expenses)
* Separate ODA technical cooperation expenses from JICA [without indirect expenses] Approximately 60,000,000 yen / year (within 300,000,000 yen in 5 years)
[If there are indirect expenses] About 70,000,000 yen / year (within 350,000 thousand yen in 5 years)
Application requirements: SATREPS is a collaborative project with ODA, and when making a research proposal to AMED, please fully coordinate the content of joint research with researchers from the partner country. In addition, when applying, it is necessary for the research institute of the partner country to submit a request for technical cooperation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs via the Embassy of Japan through the ODA ministry of the partner country. The deadline for submitting a request for technical cooperation is October 29, 3rd year of Reiwa (Japan time). If the request form is not delivered to the Japanese government by the submission deadline regardless of the circumstances, it will be judged that the selection requirements have not been met, and the research proposal on the Japanese side will also be excluded from the selection.

SATREPS provides new knowledge and technologies that will lead to the solution of issues (global issues) that are difficult to solve in one country or region and are required to be jointly tackled by the international community and to improve the level of science and technology. The purpose is to acquire and create innovation through these.
