Some currently adopted diagnostic methods for NTDs lack the sensitivity or specificity to reliably diagnose and treat all infections. This two-part workshop explores these issues, citing recent studies on the diagnosis of African sleeping sickness, endemic treponema infections, and urinary schistosomiasis.
