This is an announcement of the symposium " AMED International Joint Symposium 2021: Promotion of Infectious Disease Research Cooperation between Africa and Japan " sponsored by the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED).

At this symposium, Japanese researchers have built cooperative relationships with African research institutes through the support of AMED, collaboration with companies, research and development of diagnostic tools for developing countries through Public Private Partnership (PPP), and medical care in Africa. Themes such as the possibility of building a research network in the field will be discussed.
