A parliamentary federation has been established to eradicate neglected tropical diseases.

On May 21, 2019, the Parliamentary League for the Eradication of Neglected Tropical Diseases was established, with Yasuhisa Shiozaki as chairman and Kozo Akino as secretary-general. The inauguration ceremony was attended by many organizations and companies such as Asahiko Mihara, Tsutomu Tomioka, Aya Kunimitsu, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, JICA, AMED, GHIT Fund, Eisai, and NGOs. , It was done grandly. At the inauguration ceremony, the name of the parliamentary federation was decided, the president was appointed, and the policy of activities was adopted and ended. Chairman Shiozaki stated that NTDs are an important issue for the achievement of the poorest UHC and SDGs, and that Japan can contribute to the world by utilizing its technology and experience.
