Thoko Elphick-Pooley (Uniting to Combat NTDs, Director)
He leads the "Uniting to Combat NTDs", a coordinating base for NTDs suppression activities around the world. Uniting to Combat NTDs are a unique and powerful coalition of global health agencies, pharmaceutical companies, NGOs, charities, donor countries and governments of NTD-infested countries, with more than the poorest billion people on the planet. We are working to end the suffering of NTDs affecting people in the world.
Aya Yajima (World Health Organization Western Pacific Regional Office, Neglected Tropical Diseases Specialist)
Since 2015, as a Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) Specialist at the World Health Organization (WHO) Western Pacific Regional Office, collaborate with WHO headquarters, national offices, other UN agencies, donors and partners to eradicate NTD. And support policy planning / implementation, financing, etc. From 2009 to 2015, worked in the NTD Countermeasures Department of WHO Headquarters. After graduating from the University of London and earning a master's degree in environmental hygiene from Thailand, he received a doctorate in parasite transmission control from the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Agriculture and Life Sciences. He holds a Master of Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
