Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) remain a major public health challenge, particularly in African countries. Overcoming NTDs requires not only scientific and medical innovation but also holistic and sustainable approaches grounded in the needs of local communities.
This official TICAD9 side event aims to foster cross-sectoral and intergenerational collaboration by bringing together stakeholders from academia, the pharmaceutical industry, policymakers, and youth leaders. Through this gathering, we seek to promote co-creation with Africa in tackling NTDs.
Experts and practitioners from Japan and abroad will share practical examples and insights, engaging in discussions on current challenges and future perspectives in the fight against NTDs.
Within the international framework of TICAD9, this event offers a timely opportunity to reaffirm Japan’s role and approach in global health cooperation and to open new doors for partnership and action.
