Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED), 3rd year of Reiwa (2021) "Medical field international science and technology joint research and development promotion project International joint research for neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) measures in Africa The open call for participants for the "Program" is scheduled to start around the beginning of June. In this year's open call for participants, we are soliciting proposals for research and development targeting the following diseases (groups) among the "Neglected Tropical Diseases" defined by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Buruli ulcer, cysticercosis, African sleep disease, leishmaniasis, Hansen's disease, mycetoma / chromoblastomycosis and deep mycosis, river blindness, schistosomiasis, taeniasis / cysticercosis

【Business summary】

At research institutes such as universities in Japan and African countries, we will develop preventive, diagnosed, drug discovery, and therapeutic methods for neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), aiming for social implementation of the results, and through joint research. We will develop human resources for young researchers in Japan and Africa.
